Middleburg Address & What to Expect At the Competition

Here is the Middleburg competition address:

Middleburg HS Address
3750 County Road 220
Middleburg, 32058

I've received some questions from our freshman parents on how things work;

SEATING LOGISTICS:   Seating is first come. Seating changes as bands and observers come and go. We usually gravitate together and form a purple block and cheer enthusiastically.

All the marching band competitions, except for the State championship at the Tropicana Dome, take place around the school track/football field. Observers sit in the bleachers. Depending on where the sun is, there may be little shade - and most of that around the announcers box. If definitely gets cooler when the sun goes down. You'll want to bring sunscreen, visors or caps, and if you sit up high in the bleachers so that you aren't blocking anyone's view, you can use an umbrella to create shade.

If you have stadium seats, you'll be glad you brought them.  You know, the kind that soften the seat beneath you, and provide back support.  There isn't really any place to set up folding chairs, but people sometimes bring them and set up places to sit outside of the field during the longer breaks and for meals.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO EAT?:  You can bring food and drinks.  I keep mine in a back pack.  There isn't really space for full sized coolers in the bleachers, but very small coolers can be managed.  You can also exit the field for meal breaks, as long as you have your wrist band.  The competition will also have vendors selling cold drinks, pizza, chicken, burgers, dogs, ice cream.  The prices are MUCH more reasonable than at, say, the Gator games or major theme parks.

BREAK BETWEEN PRELIM AND FINALS: There is usually a break of about 1 1/2 hours between the end of prelims and the beginning of finals.  Many parents use that break to find a nice, cool restaurant and chill out.
